Quick Specs Mount Type:TiltFits Screens:32-55inMax Capacity:135lbsTilt Up/Dn:0°/15°Profile Height:1.9inMax Stud Span:26.0inFor all you bargain hunters out there the VideoSecu MF607B might be the best deal on a tilting TV wall mount currently available. Mounts like this regularly sell for $100 or more in the brick and mortar stores, but the MF607B delivers the same bang for the buck at a fraction of the price. You get solid steel construction, a design that will fit virtually any screen size from 32"-55" and a big bag of bolts and washers so you don't have to run to the hardware store. Properly installed it has the same performance and features as its pricer rivals, but for a lot less. The MF607B's design is simplicity itself. Two horizontal rails form the backplate that attaches to the wall, upon which two vertical TV brackets that bolt to the back of the TV hook into place along the top rail while two locking screws fix the assembly in place against the bottom rail. The width of the rails and the elongated holes running along the top and bottom give the mount a lot of lateral adjustment during installation. It's relatively easy to position the mount exactly where you need it and still be able to sink the lag bolts into the wall studs. For most, locating the studs is the hardest part of the install. The simplest and safest way to do this is with a stud finder (available at most hardware stores). The mount has a built-in bubble level but we found it less than accurate. To make sure everything is aligned properly use a good quality bubble level before you start drilling. There is no way to adjust things after the fact so if the alignment is off you will have to start over. In the vertical position the MF607B has a very low profile - less than 2". Many find this flush fit to be more aesthetically pleasing and it is one of the main selling points of the mount. Things get a bit more complicated when the screen is tilted forward as this causes the top of the TV to angle away from the wall, leaving a noticeable gap. If you plan on using the tilt feature you should be aware of this. Also pay attention to the clearance between the bottom of the TV and the wall. Depending on the make and model of your screen you might find it a very tight fit to make the necessary connections at the back. You can try adding some plastic spacers (included) to the brackets to create a larger gap, but this will detract from the style and look. An alternative is to make the necessary connections before you hang the screen or use "L-shaped" plugs. It supports hole patterns up to 27.6" horizontally and 17.3" vertically, which should fit virtually any 32-55" plasma or LCD TV. With its sold construction, flexible design and bargain basement pricing the VideoSecu MF607B is one of the best deals out there. Short of giving the thing away for free we don't know what else could be offered.
